Hello, internet world!
Apologies ahead of time for having to experience the awkwardness of this first post. How does someone actually introduce themselves to the internet? Do I need an introduction? Well, I feel obligated to provide one, even if it is as painful to read as it was to write.
But, I digress.
My name is Erin and am the face behind Wander Niche. I’ve wanted to begin a blog for a while now (read: years) but have never really had the time to dedicate to post – consistently, at least. But now, I’ve reached that first significant milestone in my adult life of graduating college, and I am preparing for a future of adventures and transitions. It seemed high-time that I buckle down and take seriously something that I’ve wanted to do forever. Hence, why I’m here.
And Wander Niche is what I’m offering! This blog will serve as the little corner of the internet where I can share with you (whoever you are) my explorations, musings, and other ramblings about the things in life that I come to enjoy. I believe my greatest feature to be my curiosity of the world and I have been fortunate enough in life to be given the opportunities cultivate this curiosity, both abroad and at home. Nothing gives me more pleasure than exploring something new, be that a restaurant, a neighborhood, the great outdoors, or a new country and its people. I also am a sucker for beauty, fashion, and life’s other frivolities, as my best friend and fellow blogger Allison likes to put it. So, expect some of that on here, too!
The rest of spring and summer is going to be hectic – I’m finishing up my last few weeks in Pittsburgh at my job bartending at a local hotel, all while finalizing my plans for a five-week backpacking adventure through Spain with my boyfriend, Chris. Then, we will immediately be visiting New York to find a place to live, going back to Pittsburgh to finish packing, and then back to NYC to actually move in – all while trying to find a new job to occupy myself (and pay rent!) in my year off before graduate school. It’s a lot to soak in, but I’m excited for everything we’ll be experiencing with each other. I cannot wait to see what there is to come, and to share it with you!
